In this video you can see a highlight of my motion and screen content for the UK and US esports gaming brand Belong as their motion graphics and video editing specialist. The elegant and minimal features of the brand include a monochromatic colour scheme with a signature chevron motif that was always fun to try and reinforce but also innovate upon when the project required.

As part of a performance of orchestral songs to be played for a large audience of children and their families at the Royal Festival Hall at the South Bank Centre in London in 2015 I was commissioned to create a music video for the Noisy Notes company. While the brief was amazing in its own right with the freedom to create a 3D children's animation the fact that it would have a full 80+ piece orchestra playing live alongside it made this all the more unique. As I only had two weeks to create the animation I came up with the simple concept of colourful orbs playfully coming out at night and moving to the lines of the piece culminating with a mystical pipe player capturing them in an orb under his own control. I aimed to cature the childlike wonder and mystique of an exotic land far away and even if literal magic spells didn't appear in the Royal Festival Hall it was incredibly rewarding to see something like magic occur as the kids sat enraptured to the music and visuals working together in tight unison at the live performance.

Created as part of a job interview proposal for Socios a sports based fan interaction cryptocurrency company. I was given a list of a few teams to create for the 45 second motion video and chose FC Barcelona as it had been featured heavily in their previous promotions and I felt I could have fun with the bold color scheme of the team logo. While the coin itself is the hero of the visual I made sure that that fans and the interactions were implemented through reflections as that was the core ethos underneath their cryptocurrency economy. I'm proud of the pace and delivery of information through the video and in terms of success it got me a job offer with the company though the lack of focus on motion work in the prospective role made me better consider other options.

SHEFFIELD SERPENTS REVEAL TRAILER

This is a reveal trailer for the squad emblem of a gaming arena for Belong, a provider of esports gaming spaces across the UK.

As the squad's design was a serpent I decided to highlight the slippery, stealthy nature of snakes and ramp up the tension until the final reveal. A mixture of utilising Blender's curve as a trail for the model to follow and an innovative emission shader affected by scene lights also made this project an oppourtunity to invest more time into the approach and
aesthetics of future squad reveal videos for the brand.

G-Force Software, a company creating virtual software instruments commissioned me to create a reveal trailer for their flagship synth software based off a famous and rare synthesizer. After an intensive walkthrough of the hardware and software in-person with the co-creator i was given a list of bullet points and the trust to create something cool. After a bit of further back and forth a 3D, skeuomorphic backup with walkthrough video approach was chosen. This allowed potential customers to see the software/hardware differences in a tangible way. I won't lie that I had a lot of fun modelling both the devices and it gave me a lot of opportunities to delve into the details.

Mother's Day Samsung Piccadilly Screen Takeover

For 2024 mother's day Samsung commisioned HH Global's creative agency to create a bespoke motion video that could be formatted for Piccadilly screen and show off various products in their gifting range. As the motion designer responsible I wanted to create something that was easy to read, clear and got to the point while utilising HH Global's own product shots. With back and forth between the creative lead we eventually came up with the above layout which played with colour and subtle accentuation of product shots.

While not a flashy or complicated piece of marketing by any means the niche spec requirements plus the pride of having something displayed in such a prominent area are the reason I wanted to highlight this project.

DreamTek Video Examples

From 2011 to 2019 I worked at London based studio building and video production agency Dreamtek Ltd rising from the ranks of IT boy to their most senior post-production specialist. The varied work and ability to work across different branches kept my busy for my long tenure there working with such esteemed companies as Google, Facebook and Red Bull. While I've now moved on I thank them for the work ethic and client facing approach that carries with me to all jobs and projects.
